
About Matt
Matt is a dedicated run coach at Parallel Running, driven to help runners of all abilities achieve their running ambitions through long term progression and support.
As an elite distance runner for ASICS, Matt understands firsthand what it takes to improve and the importance of building genuine, trusting relationships along the way.
Running since around age 5, coached by Andy Buchanan (10 years) and Scott Westcott (Current), his experience has shaped him into a highly knowledgeable and passionate coach, committed to passing on everything he’s learned to his athletes.
Matt believes the best results come from consistency. With a strong focus on injury prevention and balance, he helps athletes train effectively while still showing up fully in the rest of their lives—while reinforcing the importance of staying consistent with running to support both long-term physical and mental health.
As a coach, Matt takes a lot of pride delivering a program highly specific to the athletes ability and goals while also providing enough variety and banter to keep everyday exciting.
Outside of running, Matt is studying a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition, working towards becoming an accredited dietitian. He is passionate about helping athletes not only perform at their best, but also become confident in how they fuel their bodies for sport and for life.
