At Parallel Running, we are extremely excited to introduce Parallel Junior Coaching.
We believe this program will bridge the gap between junior athletes (and parents of junior athletes) not knowing where to start, all the way through to the stage where an individual coach may become beneficial.
Many young runners start the sport with very little guidance around training structure, recovery, or development, which can often lead to confusion, burnout, or unnecessary injuries. This occurs because running is so individual and every journey is different.
The goal of this program is to guide and educate parents so they can confidently support their child’s running journey without needing to commit to full one-on-one coaching.
Our focus is on safe development, enjoyment of the sport, and building strong training habits early on.

Parallel Junior Coaching provides simple structure and guidance so parents can feel confident their child is training in a safe and age-appropriate way.
This program is designed to remove the guesswork for parents, while still keeping running fun and low-pressure for young athletes.
If you are a parent whose kid/s participate in many different sports during the week and understand the importance of speed development and strategic development, this program could be what you are missing.
How it works

Complete Sign-up Form
Complete the sign up form for your child or junior runner.

Initial Consultation
You will then receive a welcome email with the next steps. You will then book in a short Consultation with one of the junior coaches.

Ongoing Coaching
Following the call, you will be joining the Parallel Community where the coaching begins.
What you and your junior athlete get
Parents or junior athletes sign up to a monthly subscription-based program.
Before getting started, we will organise a short consult call to walk you through how the program works and answer any questions you may have.
During the call, you will be added to a private WhatsApp community.
Each week, Parallel Running will provide:

2-3 structured running sessions suitable for junior athletes

Weekly education in the form of videos, tips, tricks and training guidance for parents to support their young ones.

Advice on how to safely support your child’s training and development

Access to the Parallel Running Community
The purpose of the community is to help parents feel confident supporting their child’s running journey, while ensuring training is approached in a safe and appropriate way.
Training will also be structured around the season the athlete is currently in, such as cross country or athletics, helping prepare them for the competitions and events relevant to that time of year.

For 'Parallel Junior' athletes this form should be completed by a parent or guardian. You will have the opportunity to enter your child’s details within the 'Parallel JUNIOR' section.
